One Cow Coughs: A Counting Book for the Sick and Miserable by Christine Loomis. By the title I new it was a counting book. While I was searching for books for this assignment I came across a book I forgot the it was also a counting book but it had no words until the very end of the book which I thought was weird until I read the article by Lysaker that goes into depth why reading wordless books are so important to the fundamentals of reading for young readers. I also discovered that many books could fall under multiple categories, such as, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is both a ABC book but it could also be categorized as a pattern book because of the frequency of some of the sayings in the book. As I walked around the class room I saw many books that I read as a child in school and books that I have never seen. It is really crazy how books of all types stay relevant throughout the years.
